The Dream

"The Dream" is a God-inspired vision to help fulfill the mission of Victory Fellowship which is "Helping people discover the eternal and life-changing victory in Jesus Christ".

PURPOSE STATEMENT
To help the people of our church and community develop spiritual, physical, and social health through our worship center and multi-purpose recreational facility.

PROPOSED LOCATION
Victory Fellowship is presently located in West Torrance. Any new location would ideally be within a few mile radius of our existing site.

PROPOSED STRUCTURE
The proposed project will require an approximate 5 acre parcel, preferably containing an existing 80,000 square foot, two story warehouse with few interior support beams and a high ceiling that is capable of being converted into the complex described below. The number of parking spaces the city will require cannot be determined at this time.

  • Lobby/Entrance - A formal entrance leading to Sanctuary and Recreation Center

  • Garden Atrium - to create a natural and peaceful environment

  • Outdoor Patio - for eating and relaxing

  • Sanctuary - Specifics
    • Approximately 9,000 sq. ft.
    • Minimum 350 person seating capacity with balcony
    • State of the art sound and lighting system with multimedia capabilities controlled from separate sound booth
    • "Crying Room" and "Nursery" for parents with newborns
    • Storage for musical equipment, seasonal props, chairs, etc.

  • Commercial Kitchen
    • Adjacent to the multipurpose court and sanctuary
    • Fully equipped with laundry facilities

  • Coffee house - overlooking gymnasium
    • Serving hot and cold drinks and healthy snacks
    • Includes small stage area
    • Internet accessibility

  • Theater - for team meetings, seminars, and viewing movies, etc.

  • Offices/Classrooms/Conference Rooms
    • 5-10 offices- 10 x 12 or 10 x 15
    • 10 classrooms, 12 x 15 and up to 20 x 40 with partitions
    • 2 conference rooms

  • Recreational Facility - Specifics
    • Four regulation hardwood courts- each lined and equipped for basketball and volleyball
      • Each court separated by floor to ceiling curtains
      • Fold-out and portable bleachers for viewing
      • Retractable baskets
    • One Multipurpose court - extra-wide, non-regulation court with all-purpose surface, lined and equipped for basketball and volleyball
      • Adequate space, storage and stage area to accommodate banquets, awards ceremonies, lectures, etc.
    • "Fitness Room" - with wood floors and mirrored walls for aerobics, dance, and martial arts classes, etc.
    • "Exercise Room" - with resistance machines, free weights and cardio-machines (Stairmaster, elliptical machines, treadmills, etc)
    • Men's and women's locker rooms - with showers and lockers
    • Youth Center
      • Learning area with tables, chairs and computers
      • Recreation area with table tennis, foosball, air hockey, and video game stations.
    • Child play area - with developmental learning equipment

The estimated project cost is $18 to $25 million, broken down as follows:

Q: How has God revealed this vision to you (Pastor Rick)?
A: God revealed "The Dream" during the Summer of 2007 when He provided a very clear picture of its structural elements; God confirmed this vision as Pastor Rick continued to spend time in prayer, read Scriptures, and receive support from other church leaders; God also collected and surrounded Pastor Rick with key people who have helped clarify the vision; and lastly, God has also opened the doors of opportunity with architectural design companies, the City of Torrance, and financial donors; while affirming this church calling via the Board, the congregation and many other pastoral leaders.

Q: How can I help?
A: First and foremost, we covet your prayers for God's continual wisdom and discernment as we continue forth with this kingdom project.
Secondly, please direct any questions and/or feedback to the DIRT team for consideration, as we are always open to your thoughts and opinions.
Thirdly, please share the vision with others as it would to expand our networking capabilities amongst potential donors and other interested parties.
Fourthly, please consider being a part of the DIRT (Dream Implementation and Realization Team).

Q: What will the congregations financial responsibilities be in regards to The Dream?
A: Victory's financial responsibility ($500,000) will be raised over and beyond regular church tithes/offerings.
